Laser Cutting

This new machine is more cost effective than our older CO2 laser allowing us to offer more competitive quotes.

No more expensive special laser gas, less electricity to run the machine, removal of optical mirrors and the need for expensive alignment processes, lower maintenance cost, increased speed (over 5 times faster on some materials) which will reduce the cost per part and automatic nozzle changing speeding up the operators time to change materials. 

Drawings

Drawings can be emailed in dxf or dwg format 1:1 scale in mm with at least one dimension to check the size of the part. Alternatively we are able to scan some pdf files with clear outlines to create files for our system. We can also direct you to a very good drawing service experienced in turning more elaborate artistic projects into cutting files for our laser.

We can draw your parts from the original or from a sketch or a cut pattern. This takes a bit longer but it can be done. Parts are stored in our database for future orders.

CNC Pressing

When we put our first Amada laser in we found the old brake press did not have the accuracy needed. We had to upgrade to CNC pressing. Fabriweld has one NC and one CNC press with a range of tooling for folding a wide range of precision components. Our larger press and fold up to 4.2 meters.

Engineering And Design

Our team of highly skilled and experienced fabricators are able to transform your ideas into components. Some of New Zealand’s largest fishing companies and vessels are based in Nelson. Fabriweld has made many conveyors, safety guarding, tanks and all sorts of other parts over the years. Laser cutting and CNC pressing has revolutionised the accuracy and reduced the time to produce these. 

In 2014 we had one computer and one laptop. We now have five computers with drawing programs. All our staff can draw parts for our laser speeding up the development time. The Amada AP100 software also has an excellent ducting program allowing us to easily build these.

Fabrication

Fabriweld has some of Nelson’s best fabricators and welders specialising in stainless steel and aluminium but able to weld most metals. Conveyors, bench tops, shower trays, tanks, fittings, splashbacks, flashings, architectural stainless, rolling of tube, angle etc, ducting, extraction canopies.
